Reading is like running 🏃🏾♂️- if you don’t do it often, your stamina will decrease!
Global pandemic + summer slide = out-of-shape readers.
Follow these tips to get your brain back in shape for the start of school:
✔️Learn about your reading habits and interests. If you’re interested in what you are reading, you’re more likely to continue.
✔️Designate time to read every day. Allow your habits to become routine! Stamina is built by increasing the amount of time you read each day.
✔️Ask LOTS of questions. Comprehension skills are sharpened by discussing what is happening in a book or article, making inferences, and reflecting on how the reading relates to you.
✔️Set goals and track progress. Seeing your success will motivate you to continue teaching towards harder goals.
